Jos Myers
Venue: Eagle Bay Brewery, Eagle Bay Road
Jos contemplated studying Fine Arts but instead left home and started painting. A move to Sydney's northern beaches at eighteen saw her initially painting surfboards and designing surf wear art. She then went to live in Hawaii and in 1992 had her first solo exhibition in Maui. This coincided with the birth of her son Reif. The lush landscapes and the vibrant colours of Hawaii left an indelible mark on her paintings.
On returning to Perth in 1997 she started her own studio/ gallery Maverick and encouraged other young artists. She has since exhibited in Melbourne and West Australia.
Jos is adamant that her paintings are there, not to be analysed but to be enjoyed visually. The essence of her being is very much "what you see is what you get". This is reflected on her canvasses and the way she lives her life. Her subjects range from contemporary urban fantasies to her now famous beach and ocean scenes. All her subjects reflect a sense of fun. Her works remain quintessentially Australian and as such are valued by both private and corporate collectors.

Duncan Liddle
Venue: Funs Back Surf, Yallingup
This surfboard was handcrafted by Calum Liddle. He has been shaping surfboards out of Angourie,NSW for about 30 years.Cal is one of a handful of shapers on the east coast who continues to handshape the blank from start to finish. The boards are glassed by him onsite to a very high standard.
Cal's younger brother Duncan airbrushed this board. He has two passions in life, surfing and art. Both have dominated his life at one time or another. In his younger years growing up around Angourie it was surfing. Later it was art where he immersed himself in the Sydney art scene of the 1990's.Completing a diploma in Fine Arts, he is now living in Byron Bay where he pursues both with equal vigour.
"All I've painted since 2000 is waves. trying to capture a translucent cascading lip or the sunlight sparkling on the sea. In fact, trying to capture the movement of water is very difficult. Combine that with a shaped blank where you only get one chance is a recipe for disaster. So when it works it's very rewarding and you end up with a pretty cool stick I think."
Board Details:
6'6" rounded pintail
Bottom glassed with 4oz. Deck glassed with 2x4oz with tail patch.
Tinted laminate
Polished finish
Airbrushed bottom

Daniel Joyce
Venue Board 1 (Desert): Samudra, 226 Naturaliste Tce, Dunsborough
I just returned from my first surf trip to the Mentawaiis this October with 8 mates and painted this from my photos of a break called 'thunders' ...and blended it with the rich red desert earth of W.A as they both connect with the same pumping indian ocean swells.
Venue Board 2 (Shark): Flying Fish Cove Winery, Lot 125, Caves Road, Wilyabrup
http://www.flyingfishcove.com.au/
Protect, save and most of all enjoy the environment....... a humourous mix at 2 of W.A's hot topics ....to raise awareness of the rich beauty and diversity of our environment.... how it provides for us ...and takes away from us.
Daniel Joyce is a devoted father, husband, fisherman, surfer and artist from Caves Beach. Self-taught Daniel specialises in drawing and painting beachscape panoramas, concept illustration and logo design.... caricature, portrait and murals on everything from surfboards to hotrods, prime-movers and aircraft. With his style described as realism, possibly surrealism, definately simplism...and involving a lot of curvism. Daniel's work has been collected both overseas and in Australia.

Marie won WA female vocalist of the year in 1986.
Marie now works from home in City Beach and from her studio at Injidup, south of Yallingup. Marie is fascinated by the movement and contrast between the surfer and the water which led her to complete a series of realistic surf paintings over the past few years. “The Salmon”, is part of this realism series and has a sense of movement and motion. The salmon was chosen because of its deep mythological symbology in many cultures. “The Salmon” represents knowledge.

Reif Myers
Venue: Brownies Sun & Surf, Claremont Quater Shopping Centre, 170 St Quentin Ave, Claremont
From a young age, Reif was associated with the beach and art. Reif lived in Maui until the age of 3 . He then moved to Western Australia. Reif initially lived in Yallingup for a few months before moving to Subiaco. It was here that he started to experiment with his artistic talents. Reif would often go to his mums studio after school rather than after-school care. He would be placed in front of an empty canvas and it would act as his baby sitter for the afternoon.
Living close to the beach, Reif became a local grommet surfing Cottesloe Main Beach and the Cove with the local boardrider club. In 2006, Reif, as year 9 Scotch student was asked to complete an International Baccalaureate Personal Project. There were no restrictions on subject matter, Reif chose beachwear. The beachwear took off and he now has his own art inspired label Ocean Zone. Reif continues to inspire the younger generations with his fresh unique designs, also introducing fresh new young, artistic talent to the OZ team.

Stuart McMillan
Venue: Funs Back Surf, 120 Marine Parade, Cottesloe
Stuart was born in South Australia and currently lives in Perth.
Stuart says:
"Being humbled from an early age by the ocean I feel my connection with nature and the landscape has always been very close. As a surfer turned suburbanite the struggle between human vs nature somehow always surfaces in my work. Over the past twelve years painting, drawing and photography continue to feed my inspiration shifting depending on my environmental surrounds.
My surfboard design "Dinosaur Coast" explores this contemplative experience of being, in a world of constant flux where being human is about just enjoying the moment and taking it all in."
