The Yallingup Surfilm Festival aims to inspire exploration into surf culture. We aim to provide passionate filmmakers & artists from around the world with a forum for sharing their creativity.

Program

The YSF10 program is a diverse and classic collection dedicated to oceanic philosophy. With 8 Feature Films, Live Music, Auctions, Q & A sessions with eccentric anecdotes on the making of the films with the film directors and surf legends, the inaugural YSF is an event to truly in the spirit of surf culture.

Every night holds a different program of films, music, fundraising auctions and talks. All films screened will be in competition for the Best Feature Film Award, Best Short Film Award and People’s Choice Award. The screening of short films will be announced in January. Due to the influx of many fabulous films, Samudra is opening its doors for the screening of 2 finalist feature films, on Saturday and Sunday afternoon of the festival weekend, at 2.30pm.

  • Tom Wegener - Alaia Surfboard shaper
  • Tim Baker - Author of best selling surfing books

  • Stefan Hunt - Director of YSF world premiere preview Somewhere in Tapachula
  • Moacir Zeledon - One of the main characters in Somewhere near Tapachula
  • Mick Sowry - Director of award winning film Musica Surfica
  • Peter Goetz - Surfers Poll award winning Film Director of Sofia & Musician

All film screenings at YSF Madfish and YSF Samudra venues are rated either PG or M.

The screening at Yallingup Hall of Australian Premiere SEA OF DARKNESS is rated M15+.

  • 7pm - Live Music by Milton Browne and Red Whyte.
  • 8pm - Opening of the inaugural YSF on friday night/ individual & unique exibits & forums
  • 8.20pm - The film fun begins!
